CW2 (which unlike the others is played from a side view) a little less so than the first. Gameplay-wise, both previous games were insanely addictive and fun, with interesting campaigns. The story of all the games is, in my opinion, not worth the time it took to type it. The story in CW3 is a continuation of the first game, but it won’t be any better for you having played either of the previous games. Even when you get steamrolled, it’ll take its sweet time doing it. Like I said, you’re basically fighting a slushy. The enemy is slow and gives you plenty of time to react. The enemy won’t breach your defences in one place and then have burnt down all your stuff 5 seconds later. And unlike in other RTS games, this one really is build around the idea of turteling away. You can win most missions simply by turteling and playing the game as a Tower Defence game. Probably all of the campaign missions have tricks to them, and most of them I’ll never figure out. And that’s maybe not the worst description, because the game is about as weird and fun as that sounds. So… One way to describe it is that you’re building a spiderweb to shoot up a slushy. Buildings within connection range of each other will establish connections with each other, and all resources, whether generated or used can only travel along those connections. It, and every other building, has a “connection range” (I forget what the game calls it, if anything). This building will collect and distribute all the resources generated and used by your buildings. You typically start a match by placing your construction hub. The elevation levels play a huge part of your strategy, since what you’re fighting is basically a gigantic slushy. Matches take place on a top-down map with range of elevation level. The Arc thing refers to the game’s take on a Martin Luther King quote. All of it is the product of an extra-dimensional entity called Loki, who really-really hates people.
The thing you’re fighting/fleeing in the game is a flood of something Grey Goo inspired, called Creeper, that usually is spewed forth at an alarming rate by destructible Creeper Emitters. It seems as if all your RTS weapons are turned towards containment isolation and elimination, which is a different feel from most of those games. Is anyone familiar with this game? It appears to be a real time strategy game in which you fight against…water? Evil water? I’m not clear on that part, exactly, but it looks highly unusual.
